Hi, I’m Mary Jane!

My mom says that from the time I could hold my head up, I was holding a pencil or paintbrush. I guess you could say I was cursed with the compulsive need to create. I fell in love with the art of Photography about 11 years ago and have looked at everything through a viewfinder since. I can't go anywhere without mentally composing a photo or wondering what angle I could use to make something look more interesting. I started taking photos for friends and family and quickly fell in love with the concept of saving a moment forever, in a unique way only I could. The technology surrounding photo-taking has come so far that everyone has the ability to snap a picture with their smartphone just about wherever they're at; but to me, the value of high quality photography will never be outdated or lose it's value. Because the value is not in how expensive or elaborate the equipment is (although those things may be important) but in the unique eye of the photographer behind the lens that only an artist can offer; the composition and posing and lighting knowledge that makes the photo something special. I've come to truly appreciate the importance of moments, and have a deep reverence for how fleeting they are. I love knowing that I can consistently provide photos that show personality, tell stories, and capture moments in a way that’s cinematic, artful, and timeless. For that reason I know I'll never be able to put down my camera and I look forward to every session
