The 3 Things You Should Plan FIRST
Congratulations!! So you're starting to plan your WEDDING! Now what needs to be done first...? Whether your engagement is a year long or a month, it can feel overwhelming to have so many tasks to tackle to make the day run smoothly. Don't worry-- you will get it all done! But let's be honest, some things are more important than others. So I put together this little list of things to tackle FIRST to make the rest of your planning a breeze.
#1 Decide a Budget with your Partner
There's no way around it, Weddings are expensive. But how many times are you going to get to have all of your friends and family in the same place celebrating YOU and your love? Researching average wedding costs for your area can help you decide on a realistic goal. Once you decide with your partner a ballpark idea of how much you're both able to spend and have factored in any financial help from Family/Friends, you can start putting all of the planning pieces together without wondering if you're on the same page as your partner
#2 Pick a Date & Venue!
Okay, I know that's two things. But I lumped them together because once you've decided on a date, you can start shopping for a Venue that's available for that night. Or Vice Versa if your heart isn't set on any specific day. Can you imagine planning your dream wedding and the one place you pictured is BOOKED for the day you already told all of your friends and family to plan for?! Venues can book extremely fast so I always suggest this as a first action task.
And #3, Find a Photographer!
Take it from me, the right Photographer can make an inexpensive wedding look luxury and the wrong one can make all of your hard work and planning look like you threw it together the night before. Investing in a Professional that knows what they're doing will put your mind at ease. The flowers and candies will all be gone, even your dress you only get to wear once! But the photos will live on long after the music stops and the night comes to an end. A good place to start is Booking an Engagement Session. This gives you a chance to meet the Photographer and get comfortable with them before your big day, and also sends you right on your way for the next step of planning: Announcements/Save the Dates
